A note from the founder
Why I Built This
At nineteen, doctors told me to quit baseball. I'd been diagnosed with a degenerative hip condition as a kid, and I needed a hip replacement — no one thought I'd play again. I found a way anyway, and became the second professional ballplayer ever to compete with a total hip replacement. Seven seasons, four championships, a no-hitter, five countries.
I got signed by four MLB organizations and released by every one of them — labeled a liability. That's when I learned the thing I build everything on now: it's not the outcome that defines you, it's your response.
The game gave me direction, discipline, and belief I still carry into everything. But I also learned how hard it can be just to get to it — the reps go to whoever already has access. CageList is how I level that. We're opening every cage in the country — backyards, academies, facilities — so the next kid who needs the game the way I did can always find their way in.
